Schumann’s Eck

Schumann’s Eck

Schumann’s Eck is a busy crossing in the north of Luxembourg, where the roads from Ettelbruck to Bastogne and from Wiltz to the Upper Sûre Lake intersect. Many people take this road every day, but very few know that they are passing through the site of one of the most gruesome episodes of the Battle of the Bulge. Here, in the Winter of 1944/45, thousands of soldiers and civilians lost their lives.

Wärend dem Summersemester 2019 realiséieren d’Studente vum Bachelor „Contemporary History of Luxembourg“ op der Uni Lëtzebuerg an Zesummenaarbecht mam Dikrecher Musée fir Militärgeschicht en interaktiven Documentaire iwwert de Schumann’s Eck bei Wolz.

De Projet entsteet ënnert der Leedung vum Sandra Camarda, Dominique Santana, Denis Scuto a Gerben Zaagsma vum „Centre for Contemporary and Digital History“ a mat der Hëllef vum audiovisuellen Techniker Laurent Thiry, Designer Robert Beța an de Mataarbechter vum „Media Centre“ vun der Universitéit. Als quasi éischte Projet vun där Zort ass de „Schumann’s Eck“ en Experiment wat dat aktiivt Léieren an d’Uwenden vun digitale Methodologien am Léiere vun Zäitgeschicht ugeet.

Februar bis Mee 2019 (Aarbecht mat de Studenten)
Oktober 2019 bis Februar 2020 (Postproduktioun)
